There's no reason why not, except a MM decision not to support it. Midi+VSTi is fully functional in most sound software. >From what I've read in the discussion over the past several months, the whole HP/Kontakt/GPO/NI/keyswitch thing is an ill-conceived paste-together. With mature studio software already out there, what is the point of yet another studio, but imprisoned inside a notation system? If Finale itself acted as a VSTi that could plug into a VST host, that would be another story entirely, and a huge "about time" would rise into the air above my home. But it doesn't appear to be anything more than proprietary parallel (and inferior) sequencing. The preliminary review doesn't suggest that it takes the array of VST plugins. Or does it? How about a VST soundfont player (I have two already)? What is this thing now?
