Aaron,

I think you're got a handle on my questions. Just before your post came in,
I fired out another set of confusions/questions to Darcy.

To keep this from getting terribly asynchronous, I'll wait for a while to
send this post.... okay it's been about an hour, so...

Yes, all my expressions that have expressive meaning are defined to
express. :)

It would for several hundred scores that might benefit from being run
through the new system. But I'd like to hear them to decide. A plugin or
script that could be run on a whole directory of copied scores would be
great -- or even the stage where it imports scores from earlier Finale
versions asking 'produce score for GPO/Kontakt system?' For scores from
scratch, I'd still have to update my rather large default file, but only
for the small body of templates that I have.

Someone said HP had to be turned off for GPO. I'll skip that question for now.

My use of 'new playback system' has entirely screwed up the questions &
answers, I think. As I explained in my answer post, by 'new playback
system' I meant the new Kontakt/GPO playback system. This will in no time
become the default method of working with Finale. I can smell it. :)

I think I need a flow chart. These are the options?

Notation -> HP -> GPO/Kontakt (no other VSTi) -> Audio
Notation -> HP -> GPO/Kontakt -> End (no massaged Midi file option).
Notation -> HP -> other mix'n'match VSTi or Soundfont combo -> Audio
Notation -> HP Plugin -> Massaged Midi file available for save
Notation -> User-defined expression Midi file available for save
Midi -> Notation -> ??? How is Midi controller data used/interpreted by HP
and/or GPO/Kontakt, or is it ignored?

Okay. I'm still on hold with this one, then.

Still on hold here, too, depending on the ultimate answer to #4 in Finale's
marketing regime

But the development went into this feature, didn't it? The whole
integration? So it will end up being the default for most folks. Be that as
it may....

...*excluding* an option to load my own samples or convert them from other
formats (yes?) or use other players *simultaneously* (yes?)

That's for darn sure.

Many thanks,
Dennis
