I would really strongly *not* recommend using the VPC system to bind 11x17 scores. First off, the "machine" required to apply the tape to the long edge of 11x17 paper (assuming your score is in portrait orientation) is a $500 special-order product, which is in my opinion _absurdly_ overpriced considering the "machine" is just a device to help you apply the VPC tape. Second, the tape is not sticky enough to bind even 11x14 scores -- pages are constantly coming unstuck during page turns. Finally, even if everything worked as advertised, the score pages are not stacked exactly -- they are fanned slightly, producing an uneven left and right edge. This is (arguably) helpful for parts, facilitating page turns, but it is unacceptable for scores, IMO.

I'm reasonable happy with my 14" VPC machine for parts up to 12 (double-sided) pages long (although even then, pages have a tendency to become unstuck), even though I think the machine itself and the tape are both pretty seriously overpriced. But I've never gotten acceptable results with anything over 12 pages long, and larger paper (11x14) makes things even worse.

I'm currently looking for a better option for score binding -- if I could find an affordable coil (_not_ comb -- coil) binder that handled paper up to 17" inches long, I'd snatch it up in a second.

I have this system and have used it some. It's pretty good. the pages stay together rather well, assuming no really rough handling - pulling at individual pages. Pages turn easily and silently. I think 16 pp. will be fine in this system. My experience has been with fewer pages - maybe 5 - 8 page parts, and it has worked very well for these.

I would like to get some advice on binding a 16 page full score printed on 11" X 17" paper. I had assumed that a local copy store or Staples store could bind it with plastic comb or plastic wire coil, but none of the local
stores (Terre Haute IN) could bind the large size paper.

Also, does anyone have experience with the VPC Music Binding System?
