Resent to entire list. Sorry Dalvin, for two copies.

I would like to get some advice on binding a 16 page full score printed on 11" X 17" paper. I had assumed that a local copy store or Staples store could bind it with plastic comb or plastic wire coil, but none of the local
stores (Terre Haute IN) could bind the large size paper.

I often create scores (portrait orientation) on 11x17 paper, and to bind them I ask the copy shop to put in a coil binding for legal-size (14") binding. Obviously this is 3" too short, but three unbound inches at the top of a score of that size is perfectly acceptable, and causes no problems. I ask for the unbound portion to be at the TOP of the score, rather than at the bottom, as this makes it sit on the stand more easily when turning pages.

I DO ask that they use a larger coil than the smallest one that will fit (which is what they strive for) as a slightly larger coil makes less noise and creates less binding when turning pages. Coils are preferable to plastic combs, which tend to bend, break, and pull out at inopportune times.
