Exactly. So, basically it comes down to now what do you like more. Do
you find the Mac OS X interface or Windows XP better? Personally, Mac OS
X wins hands down.
Now, if they would get Finale, and other music software Universal Binary
so they run better on Intel chips.........

Without fanning the flames of a potential flamewar, I think it's worth
mentioning that now that Macs are using Intel Core processors, direct
harware comparisons between Apple hardware and, e.g., Dell are now
very possible. And the premium one pays for running OS X is not nearly
as much as everyone seems to assume. If you match the hardware
feature-for-feature, Macs are actually competitive with similar WinTel
hardware.
The real difference is that Dell etc. offer ultra-low-end machines,
and Apple does not -- the new Mac mini, base config, is $599 -- which
is, admittedly, more than a bottom-line Dell. But it's not
*significantly* more than a similarly-configured Intel Core Solo Dell,
once you factor in all the "standard" features of the MacIntel mini
(Wireless G, Bluetooth 2.0, gigabit ethernet, etc).
