yes but even in professional german orchestras they can't play B#3
because it "doesn't exist" on the instrument 8-)
That would be B#2, right? Funny, but we managed to play it just
fine. Maybe the Germans think it sounds like H ?!!!

- can be found, but don't count on it
3 octave [F3-F6 / C3-C6]
- commonly found in the orchestra, but can't predict which 3-octave
model will be available (extended top or bottom), therefore best to
write for standard 2.5 octave.

Yes, my reference is Sam Solomon, "How to Write for Percussion," and
he mentions all of those except the one "with pedal." But I would
never assume anything but the "standard" unless I knew what I was
writing for.
