it looks like my font annotation file has somehow been altered globally. the top values are adjusted so that the upper line of the bounding (red) rectangle are all about 80 values too low. is there a way to alter this globally? is there an explanation for what happened?
by the way, what values are used in the FAN dialogue box? they are the same no matter what measurement unit is set globally.
