Like others, I wasn't even aware the product was still alive. About once a month somebody sends me a WPD , which of course I can't open. One of those guys is still using Windows 95.
This loosely relates to the Dark Ages concept of file compatibility that the Finale folks have followed. It is never a good business model, when you are essentially in the business of collaboration, to make it very difficult for people to share files. I would strongly recommend that folks look at LibreOffice. It is an open source product that is highly robust, essentially equivalent to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint in function, and is highly compatible with the software 98% of the world uses.
