You haven't used MusicXML recently, if you think that all you get is the notes. You also get text fields, expression marks and a whole lot more. Try it with the freely downloadable versions from MakeMusic. MIDI gives you just the notes with some expression capability, but MusicXML in its most recent versions gives you a whole lot more data transfer. I've transferred files between Finale and Sibelius and had them open up ready to print in Sibelius. -- David H.
