Greg, 

A source installation downloads the source code for a program and compiles it 
on your computer.  A binary installation downloads a pre-compiled...binary 
and installs it.

It looks like you have system-xfree86 installed without having Apple's X11.  
So basically fink thinks that you have it installed somewhere else when you 
really don't.  You can either download X11 from Apple or remove 
system-xfree86 and install xfree86-base from fink.
