My standard recommendation is to flush out your old X11 directory by running

sudo rm -rf /usr/X11R6

and then reinstall X11 and the SDK.

Take a look in the faq:

http://fink.sourceforge.net/faq/usage-packages.php#apple-x11-wants- xfree86

Then reinstall both packages the X11 and the X11SDK at least two times so that all the packages, headers and libraries get installed.

Thanks for everyone's advise. However, my problem still doesn't seems to be quite solved. So I would like to go with Apple's X11. I went ahead and followed the instructions on the FAQ page. (removed XFree86, installed X11 and X11SDK twice)

Now when I run fink-virtual-pks I would expect Fink to

recognize my X11 server, but it doesn't do so. Any
idea what I have left to do?

Thanks again for your help
