CD image should be snapshot of the given installation at the creation time to be able to replicate exactly on another computer. Use Case: Sysadmin with bunch of computers without LAN available. Another Case: Sysadmin with bunch of computers with LAN available. This should be addressed by some possibility of proxy/local fink server. As you stated before. But i think we are discussing two different CD sets by the purpose - one 'the distribution' which would contain a complete set of fink packages made fo release. - second 'the help disc' just a local tool for spreading the fink / packages. > >> - 'update-from <path>' for installing stuff from CD > > apt-cdrom or whatever the name was is for that, and already exists. :-( i wasn't aware of that. </oops> > > Max > -- ----------------------------------------------- > Max Horn > Software Developer > > email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > phone: (+49) 6151-494890 > > _______________________________________________ > Fink-devel mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-devel > _______________________________________________ Fink-devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/fink-devel
