I keep trying to update fink, but i get the following message.

Since you have gcc 3.3 installed, fink must be bootstrapped or updated using
that compiler. However, you currently have gcc 3.1 selected. To correct
this problem, run the command:

sudo gcc_select 3.3

but that doesnt work. i have tried a lot of things, to no avail. Help?
Thanks

Generally, it's a good idea to specify what OS version you're running

Do you mean that running "sudo gcc_select 3.3" itself doesn't work, or that it appears to work but Fink still won't update?

What do you get from running "gcc --version"?
