Hi Daniel - thanks for the reply - I had a bit of difficulty getting it 
to choose a different mirror - when you're on the 'delete it and 
download again' bit of fink, it just tries to reload it from the same 
server.  I ended up telling it to assume it was a partial download and 
then it looked at a different mirror.  Anyway it worked!  Thanks for 
the help.  David.

If you have configured a mix of mirrors, do you not get an option of
trying a different mirror? I.e., you got a broken file from one site,
so try a *different* site instead of the same broken one?
