First Generation Firebird-L Mailing List

Joel,

As a point of reference, I have a friend who is about to put his numbers-matching '68 400 automatic convertible on the market for $27K. He owns a body shop and had his guys paint the car a color very close to Aleutian Blue (it was Verdoro). All original (power drum brakes, manual top, no aftermarket spoiler, air dam, or A/C).

Just curious: how did you end up with non-400 grills on a genuine 400 car?

Andy

Boy that's a tough one. Look on Ebay at first gen Camaros and Firebirds, but only look at COMPLETED auctions. This will give you an idea of what stuff is REALLY selling for (as oposed to what people are asking). I would say $16K on the low end and $25K on the high end...only thing detracting from it's value is the lack of original motor...oh and some folks won't like the color, but it is so well done many would overlook that color...except for Glenn. If you can;t get $20K for it I would hold on to it...
