Rusty,

I am from Mechanicsburg, PA near carlisle.

The problem with the fender is that it's an aftermarket piece that fits close
to the hood in the front and at the cowl but in the middle, there is a large
gap. I am afraid that it can't be adjusted but I am happy to pay if it can be
done.

Joel,
The front fender, door, cowl and nose all adjust together. I had all my
1969 pieces painted and then did the assembly. If you get someone that
knows Firebirds, they can adjust the heck out of things without painting.
This part of the job is very time consuming and is the detail that makes the
difference. Knowing what body shop and mechanic labor costs, I would say
you got a good deal on the costs for the labor, but they either did not know
how to put a Firebird together or they simply cut the corners to reduce the
labor.
Beautiful car and worth the effort to finish out the way you want it.
Where are you from? Nowhere near Manhattan, KS, I guess...

The problem is that some of the panels don't fit well and they are several
hundred miles away. Other shops tell me that if they repair the front
fender, matching the paint will be next to impossible.
