There is no one more in tune with the saying, "if you want it done right, do
it yourself" than me.

But...

There are some things in life that unless you know what you are doing, or
done it a few times, it's better to spend a few bucks to let someone
experienced do the job.  No shame in that.  The shame would truly come if
you buy the tool and then have to buy two sets of cam bearings since you
nick one putting it in; or gosh forbid you miss an alignment on an oil hole,
you blow a main bearing.  Ugly.

My master engine builder whose been working Pontiacs since the 60's doesn't
even like to install cam bearings himself since it can be tricky.

All that being said, I install my own cam bearings, but that is because I've
done a few sets...and yes even I nicked one (#3) the last time I installed a
set and had to buy another complete set to fix my goof.
