The quadrajets were noted for two plugs in the base of the carb body leaking
gas.  That may be your problem.  One kit I used years ago had a rubber
(presumably non-porous) shaped to fit in the recess where the plugs are to at
least slow down the leaking.  I think some people epoxy the plugs in place when
they do rebuilds.  You could probaly take the carb off to get to them and pry
them out (not sure, perhaps you have to have it appart to push them out) and
seal with a small amount of epoxy if they look like they are leaking.

Radiator?

I had only water  which was dumb - the old radiator did have some nastiness
at its bottom insides.  The new coolant with the new radiator looks very
nice - no nast color - so in the end I;m ok with the radiator switchout -
just hoping I didnt cause any rust problems in the engine itself from the
water for 4 years...............  heater core is probably ok - car has no
rust issues and that heater works like a still - no leaks.

now my carb is leaking a very slight amount ouf gas on the passenger side at
the base right where the flaps "hinge" is located.  just enough to dampen
the carb metal and for me to have noticed when I was trying to figure out my
bog problem..  I know nothing about carbs - is this an easy fix for me or
would it require a total rebuild anyway once you are into it?

Note - the carb was a rebuild when i dropped it in 4 years ago - it looks
brand new otherwise.
