Good tips there. I know that bringing the RPM's down makes a big difference. When my lockup torque converter switch broke once I noticed that the highway temp was up a little higher (normally never climbs above 190 and I don't have a mechanical fan and my electric fans don't come on when I'm at highway speed) so the 2004R plus lockup torque converter makes a big difference since it keeps the RPM's pretty low.

My 67 tachs at about 3300 RPM at 70 and the temp will climb up a bit (with the stock th400 and 3.something rear end) compared to the 69 that's doing about 1500 RPM at 70 (I do need to change the rear end to a 3.23 or so since it has a 2.56 right now).
