The testing grounds for good engine cooling is out here in Reno during Hot August Nights at the cruises. It's 100+ degrees most years specially the last parade on Sunday morning. My 69 with the 455 has never overheated here since I installed the aluminum radiator and an OEM dual fan assembly (I've found that this is the critical part. You need to move lots of air through the radiator or else) although this year I had vapor lock (twice) after having switched to a new gee-wiz Summit fuel pump. I'll probably go to an electric fuel pump back near the tank for next year.

I got a BeCool off ebay years ago. Its the direct fit 67-69 CAMARO/firebird. It was not as wide as my original one but bolted up. I used the factory shround and it dropped my running temps WAY down like 30+ degrees. Kevin Y> and I discussed this a few years ago and decided I got what they advertised, but really should have bought the big block camaro one and it would've been the right size. I have pics if needed showing where the old radiator bolted up vs the new one. Like I said it definately made all the difference and its HOT in Texas.
