I agree, electric pump and regulator is probably better suited for your 
application, [either as a helper pump or electric only]. A stock pump may work 
if the engine redline is close to the stock redline, [based on cam selection 
etc.]. However with that huge carb, may be not...

re: hidden switch; make sure you can readily get to it to turn it off. The 
reasoning is an electric pump will continue to pump even after an accident - 
obviously this can be very dangerous. Some wire them directly and some use the 
ignition-on terminal bus.
