If you want to have a fail safe for the electric pumpyou can use an oil pressure sender (the small ones that are just off or on) and wire it to control a relay and then that relay would be what powers the pump. That way if the engine dies (resulting in no oil pressure) the pump will shut off. You would also run a wire from the starter solenoid "on" control terminal to the relay so that the pump runs when the key is in the start position even when tehre is no oil pressure.

A stock pump may work if the engine redline is close to the stock redline, [based on cam selection etc.]. However with that huge carb, may be not... re: hidden switch; make sure you can readily get to it to turn it off. The reasoning is an electric pump will continue to pump even after an accident - obviously this can be very dangerous. Some wire them directly and some use the ignition-on terminal bus.
