The interesting thing is that Pontiac installed return lines on 400
cars and those with AC (on the V8's) and not in the others.
So what's the difference on a 350 with or without AC as far as the
carb is concerned when the AC is off (on the AC car)?
Are the pumps with a return designed to put out more volume or pressure?
Enquiring minds want to know.

I tried to run w/o a return and a regulator and still didn't seem to
work properly. Depending on what carb you using the residual fuel
pressure may bleed past the inlet valve and drip fuel into the
manifold. Ask me how I know.. I'd suggest just getting the correct pump.
