I just put new switches in my 69 last weekend and when I looked at the new ones the first thing I thought was "these are too long!!!". But then I looked at them closer and saw that they looked "self adjusting". I tested one first to make sure it would push in before I closed the door. They did work and the barrel did push in properly.
