HI Chris...dug out the box he gave me and yes..it is the original one..which
is cool. The one I have as a reman from the parts store is the same style
and shape less the bleeders. The bleeders...are they only used to clear the
air out when bench bleeding? Or are they used afterwards once installed?

Hi Chris...no I would never toss it. Just looking to solve the problem
now.
What color is your original m/c. Black or the grey metal look? And does
yours have the 2 clips or one? Haven't looked at the one the fella packed
up for me yet, but am curious about yours.
thx
Rick

Rick,
As a side note, rebuilding them doesn't take very long. I went
through
the same thing you are going through with the m/c on my 69 with factory
front discs. After looking at about 10 m/c locally, I finally ended up
getting the rebuild kit, and I rebuilt it in about an hour. It's been
working fine now for 8 years. I wouldn't toss that original m/c if I
were
you...

Hi Michael...the previous owner packaged up what he told me is the
original
master cylinder. I honestly haven't looked in the box yet..plan to do
that
before tossing it. Was going to look for a code of some kind to verify
and
if it is it, I will of course keep it. I was thinking of rebuilding it
but
also am just looking for an immediate solution so i can drive the car a
little bit before the snow comes. I have all winter to make a plan. At
this point, I want to get the maintanence things done so i have a
baseline
for the car.
Rick
Ps...do you know what the numbers are or code is for the original master
cylinder?
