I have the same problem as the first poster. Upon starting Firefox 3.0.1 with the previous 1.2.0 version of firebug i was alerted that there was a new version and I chose to install it. Now firebug is not installed, but in the addons list it says to restart firefox to install it. I have restarted several times, but it never installs. This doesnt seem to be a firefox issue, but something related to firebug, no?
I will try now to uninstall completely and the install from scratch, but I just wanted you to know that the first guy who posted is not the only one with the problem.
