I have found & fixed the problem with missing traceConsole.html and built a new version of FBTrace http://getfirebug.com/releases/fbtrace/1.8/fbTrace-1.8b2.xpi
Here is how I tested that: 1) Install Firefox 4 2) Install Firebug 1.b8 3) Install FBTrace 1.8b2 4) Open Tracing console 5) Chech ACTIVATION 6) Load www.google.com I am seeing log messages as expected. Also note that Firebug releases with 'X' in the label *have* FBTrace console included.
