Actually, the Solaris license is free when you buy Sun hardware.

If you want X86 license for intel platform, then you have to _shell out_
$695 (Aug 1999 list price) for a server license and media kit.

Perhaps you should hit up your boss for a raise if this amount of $$$ causes
you to put a 2nd mortgage ;-) (Heck, put in for a raise anyway!)

Now, as a _real_ follow-up question, where does BSDI (Berkeley Software
Design, Inc's Internet Super Server, say, V4.1) fit into the *BSD's? Is this
the same BSDI that was mentioned earlier? How does it compare in the
"secure" O/S market?
