Solaris 8 (Sun OS 2.8) is available at $89 for one Intel Server license 
without printed docs (It''s all on the CD anyway) but with 8 CD's for the 
OS AND it includes Star Office 5.2 and another CD of low to moderate 
utility. I purchased 3 for home so as to be legal.
Where did you get the figure of $689 ?
