The main differences are that BSDI offer commercial support, and because
they are a commercial enterprise, they can offer device drivers for
hardware that the open source OSes can't due to NDAs and proprietary
APIs.
As BSDI recently bought FreeBSD, Inc, I expect these two to converge
somewhat, but I believe (and may be completely wrong) that up until
recently, BSDIs offering was closer to NetBSD than to FreeBSD.
