One of the benefits would be to those of us whose radio isn't visually readable
from where we have our PC monitor. My radio is located where it is convenient
to run coax/twinlead and ground. My monitor and keyboard are located where
they're convenient to ME.

Why? What's the benefit? Odds are nearly 100% that the radio already reads
out the frequency if it is smart enough to be controllable by fldigi, and that
in turn means it doesn't need fldigi to duplicate the information on the
display. Further, as these are AFSK modes, the waterfall frequency display is
certainly appropriate in AF frequencies.
