The last time this topic came up it started out about glider towing, and then
spread out into related things like: barriers, tow cables, arresting cables,
drag chutes, tow bars, spin 'chutes, etc.

From the FDM's point of view each of these is a force vector applied to some
point on the airplane. Maybe we need a descendant of FGForce called
ExternalForce, and a list of these things for each airplane (just like
engines).

For a catapult the ExternalForce would have an origin at the nose wheel (or
thereabouts, it's up to the config writer) and would be pointed say, straight
ahead. At the activation of a catapult key the force will have a certain
magnitude for a certain time (much easier than for a certain distance).

It's important to remember that the FDM doesn't know a ship from Shinola.
