Okay. Are these fixed already? If not, I'd be happy to commit those.

I remember having a conversation about memory usage with Mathias, but I'm a 
bit fuzzy about the details. Earlier versions of FlightGear did delete tile 
related memory, but that could come at the cost of occasional "Catching up on 
Tile delete cue" alerts and very poor performance. If I'm correct, that error 
would be specific to plib though. 

I'd be interested to hear Mathias' arguments.

Apparently it's in both, but I've become more aware of it since I started a 
more specific investigation, which is plib based, due to the release 
preparation.
