I just want to experiment my own ideas about a terrain/scenery engine after experimenting the limitations of the TIN approach. As I wrote in my original post : > My plans are to use srtm4 and our collection of vectors and models > to build a more detailed earth. I don't want to map aerial photos on a terrain ( although the algorithm used make that very easy ). I think more of a terrain that would be procedurally generated. Our vectors would be used to create a texture for the whole earth at different LoD. So my ultimate goal is to write a scenery engine that could eventually ends up in FG. -Fred -- Frédéric Bouvier http://my.fotolia.com/frfoto/ Photo gallery - album photo http://fgsd.sourceforge.net/ FlightGear Scenery Designer ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel
