I just want to experiment my own ideas about a terrain/scenery engine 
after experimenting the limitations of the TIN approach. As I wrote
in my original post :

I don't want to map aerial photos on a terrain ( although the 
algorithm used make that very easy ). I think more of a terrain that
would be procedurally generated. Our vectors would be used to 
create a texture for the whole earth at different LoD.

So my ultimate goal is to write a scenery engine that could 
eventually ends up in FG.
