The other key difference is that Rembrandt is an optional graphics feature
that's switched off by default. OSG was a complete switch from plib, with
no option to allow users to not use it.

I think we're comparing apples with oranges.

So you would prefer not to mention it in the change log and release note?

Historically, we've put all sorts of features in the change log.  If
we caveat that
it is under development, I don't see any harm.
