I can vouch for both AC3D and the aforementioned videos... I completely failed to produce anything aircraft-related in blender despite working through hours and hours of tutorials. After watching those videos and getting AC3D, I managed to scrape together the Lightning which has just been committed. If I can do it, believe me, anyone can :-) As penance for cluttering fgfs with yet another model, I'm currently working on the Camel to see if I can bring it a little more up to date (in the fgfs sense obviously, it's not going to have reheat installed!)
