As an addendum, the actual site of the wind farm is around a lake called 
Wall Lake.
It is directly west of Dows, Iowa, and directly north of Blairsburg, 
Iowa. Highway 69 runs through it towards the eastern side.

If the turbines for this wind farm are actually in the scenery, they 
aren't properly placed. I used the UFO flightmodel and found what seemed 
to be a couple of distinct wind farms near Clear Lake, Iowa, or possibly 
in Minnesota. Perhaps my missing wind farm is one of those.
