It requires enough space for an unpacked global scenery tree and global
objects tree. I have this at home, and as Melchior says it's a fairly
quick job to update the objects tree - the slow part would be uploading
12GB+ of scenery after the update - ideally it needs to be done on the
server containing the scenery, but AFAICR there's limited space on there
(or am I thinking of a different server?) If there is room to do it, and
the scratch space to make it possible then I'd be happy to do regular
updates of the scenery tarballs.
