I recently updates my linux kernel and have had a terrible time getting the
ati proprietary driver to work. They stopped supporting my card in the later
versions of the driver and the earlier versions are not cooperating with the
kernel. Anyway, I tried the xorg radeon driver, and I was pleasantly
suprised as I got decent 3d acceleration. However, I'm having one issue.
On certain aircraft there is a huge drop is framerate (I can't get above 2
fps). These aircraft are the 777-200, 787, and b1900d. There are probably
others that I will have problems with that I just haven't tried yet. It
seems to be an issue with on of the instruments in the cockpit. What is
common between the instruments on these aircraft? One specific instrument
that seems to be a problem is the weather radar on the 777, which flickers
between the radar image and a blank black square.
I'm using a recent version of the CVS if that provides any clues.
