I don't think it's the years of work in fltk-2 that are the issue here, though, is it? This is supposed to be community driven, but it always seems to be the same few people who end up doing the work, and they are all folk who are incredibly busy already anyway. Where's everyone else? I always assumed that the reason that more work gets done on fltk-1 side was simply because all the folk who are actually working on this regularly (Mike, Matthias, etc.) have huge amounts of code already committed to fltk-1.1, so can't easily switch. I guess this is also true for folk who contribute regularly but don't have dev access (e.g. Greg etc., or even myself.) I know that the various things I've contributed over the years have generally been driven by a specific need that I had... But I can't take the leap to 2.x without a lot of work porting my code, and I'm reluctant to commit to that port with fltk-2 still unstable. I did port some of my code, but the port failed after a few months due to some API changes - the fixed version then died a few months later... I don't use that code anymore. The equivalent fltk-1.1 build still works, unchanged. I need that stability, so that I can focus on the real tasks. Everybody does. So I guess Matthias' plan of "sneaking up" on fltk-2 via 1.3, maybe 1.4, etc. is the only way we are all going to arrive at the same destination... _______________________________________________ fltk mailing list [email protected] http://lists.easysw.com/mailman/listinfo/fltk
