General point: it is seldom useful to ask "why does this not work in my app, when it works elsewhere" unless you can show us the code for your app, or a minimal, complete, compileable example that manifests the fault... Examples that exhibit the fail are useful. Us making random guesses as to what your code might do, they tend to be less useful...
