Dear All, I apologize for being out of contact these days, was
out for a training at Myagdi followed by the Dashain rejoicement.
I've prepared a list of activities that may be priority jobs for the
community. (Since I'm not updated about the recent status, i may be
repeating some of the jobs).
1. Prepare a report for SFD 2008
- Prepare an internal documentation of what went wrong, and at what
points we failed, along with the probable causes
2. Request and work for the modification of the syllabus of secondary and
+2 levels
- ATTM: Curriculum Development Center, HSEB
- Introduction of open standards and FOSS a must in education
3. Plan for Open Source Development Lab (OSDL)
- KUOSC is also trying to work in this regard, hence coordinate with
KUOSC
4. Prepare for training for NTA
- update status regarding our proposed training center at Brihaspati
Vidhya Sadan (BVS), Naxall
5. Coordinate with development organizations like UNDP, DFID etc
regarding how to foster FOSS and how both organization can stream events in
this regard
- may be helpul to get funds for events like SFD
- will help to strengthen our holds over FOSS advocacy, implementation
and development
6. Plan further LTSP deployments
- ATTN: MPP and Help Nepal Network
7. Plan for introducing and injecting FOSS into the enterprise sector
- I'm trying to lobby the idea that the coming SFD would focus on
"FOSS for the enterprise"
8. Plan for an e-bulletin/magazine for the community
9. Freedom Toaster (FT) enthusiasm has almost disappeared, need to
reinstate it
10. Start collecting and joining bits for the next SFD
- This time at SFD, we were damn late for the preparations, and it
greatly marred our progress and success metrics, hence we need to prepare
for it from now.
These are just my suggestions which I think are priority jobs and worth
doing it. Thanks.
