Dear Tushar and All,
I understand the problem of communities outside the valley
not getting much focus. Being an umbrella organization of FOSS related
activities in Nepal, FOSS Nepal community should not overlook the issues
outside the valley. The plans and policies must target such communities as
well. But I think this will require a lot of reform in the working
methodology of the community itself. At this time, we can't build the whole
ship in one go, rather we must move forward to an approach of building it in
bits and pieces and joining them. I think this is a rational approach.
Moreover I would like to suggest everyone to brainstorm and put
ideas that we think is a priority job and needs to be done/implemented this
year. We can discuss these ideas through this very thread at the mailing
list, keep viable ideas on a wiki page, and finally discuss on irc meeting
to finalize them. I strongly argue the point of setting a plan and/or event
calendar for this working year. I'm ready to coordinate, and I would like to
request you all to help the community.
P.S.: Tushar, and other members coordinate communities outside the valley,
please cooperate us with the ways of how this "umbrella" could be spread all
over Nepal, and how we can support activities outside the valley.
