I suspect the device is not actually made by DigitalPersona, but that 
they have expanded their software to support other devices (including UPEK).

Can you post the "lsusb -v" output for this device?

What's the exact model of the laptop? I tried to find a windows driver 
for it on HPs site, but the resultant file didn't seem to have any 
support for that USB ID.

Do you still have windows installed on the laptop? If so, which version?
