Thanks for the info! As I suspected, it's not a DigitalPersona device. It's manufactured by Validity - the first time I have heard of this company. I put some info here: http://www.reactivated.net/fprint/wiki/Unsupported_devices#Validity_VFS101 If you want to help further, next steps would be to install some software on Windows that is able to log the data that goes along the USB bus to this device, then send me the logs. Unfortunately, sniffing USB under Vista is quite hard since the free software that we usually use does not work.
