From the YouTube version, it looks like there would have been no need, assuming the many superimpositions were made in camera. (If made in printing perhaps more than A and B rolls would have been needed). This is because the film is in short sections separated by black. I'm assuming the short sections were single takes. There are splice marks visible on YouTube, but typically in the middle of takes, so presumably the copy was scanned from a print that had been repaired with cement splices.
