I agree. Key cracking is close to impossible, and I think our only choice is some kind of BIOS modchip. I think the normal xbox's "software only mod" will be impossible on the 360.
This could be a good GUI: It uses a keyboard very sparingly. http://www.symphonyos.com/ Dasher is a very good idea for game consoles, because it would work very well with a gamepad. It would be just like a video game. Last, this could be a very good HTPC, so using MythTV should be thought about.
