There was once a very interestick pack: Linux kernel + dosemu + FreeDOS, bash was on a secondary console. It would be easy to make that now, using LFS + busybox and an automatic HW detection (there is a packege for that) :) and I am sure that it would help a lot of people that still want to use DOS programs.
