Decoupling a HDD from the case is no good idea, since more than 75% of the HDD 
heat is emmitted at the side of a HDD. You will either need a further fan to 
cool it down or the livetime may be reduced significantly.

If a HDD is not mounted properly and can move a bit or gets too hot seek time 
and access is much slower.

DVD-Players are not nearly as hot as a HDD under load..
