If you don't care about a crash sometimes, yes. I use Freevo 2.0 and
I'm very happy with it. But I wrote most of the code and know some
bugs. And adding recordings can be best done by editing the fxd file
:)

Watching TV is some kind of buggy. You need a dvb or ivtv card to make
it work. And starting a live tv can corrupt running recordings.

More docs would be great. If you are brave and try Freevo 2.0, aks
here and I will answer if you promise to add the stuff I write here
